I’m Emily Bohatch and I’m sort of a geek. So it comes as no surprise that that moniker extends to my work as a reporter.  While I’ve tackled every beat covered by the usual metro desk, I specialize in data and research heavy reporting. Even during my day to day work, I strive to use numbers, spreadsheets and studies to enhance my story telling. On top of my data skills, I use my language skills learned over seven years of studying and four months living in Spain to tell stories that often can’t be told.

I’m currently a breaking news reporter at The State, in Columbia, South Carolina. My previous experience was at USA TODAY, TCPalm, the Columbus Dispatch, Alabama Magazine, Southeast Ohio Magazine and The Post.
